We suggest items that directly support our youth programs—things like snacks, bottled water, hygiene supplies, basic bike tools, or gently used gear. These contributions help us continue offering impactful experiences and remove barriers for the youth we serve.
If you’re unsure what to bring, just bring what feels right. Every contribution, big or small, helps build a stronger, more connected community.

Why Your Participation Matters
A Ride That Changes Lives
This event is a turning point for many young people. It encourages participants to take on a difficult goal—often their first of this scale—and finish strong. Along the way, they build mental and physical resilience, strengthen relationships, and experience a deep sense of accomplishment.
Your involvement directly impacts their futures, helping them build resilience, confidence, and brighter paths ahead. Together, we’re creating lasting change and giving youth the chance to shine. Join us, and be part of a powerful community dedicated to making a difference.
Our Route
From Dayton to Xenia—And Back (If You Choose!)
Riders begin in Downtown Dayton and pedal 18 scenic miles to Xenia. Once we reach our destination — we gather for lunch and a well-earned celebration. Building Bridges provides a meal for all participants at McDonald’s — a time to relax, connect, and reflect.
Some riders opt to take on the full 36-mile challenge by riding back, while others are transported home!
Our Bike Program
Building More Than Bikes
Pedal for Progress is the cornerstone of a much larger effort to engage, empower, and support youth through cycling. Throughout the year, Building Bridges offers a range of bike-centered programs that promote physical health, hands-on learning, and strong relationships.
Our Bike Repair Workshops teach young people essential mechanical skills—from fixing a flat tire to understanding how to maintain a safe, functional bike. These sessions not only build confidence but also provide tangible skills that youth can carry into adulthood or even future employment.
