Why Your Participation Matters
Every Mile Makes A Difference
The Building Bridges Biathlons were created to give at-risk youth something far greater than just a race — they provide a challenge, a purpose, and a powerful moment of achievement. By combining running and biking, with a three-mile run and six-mile bike ride, the event encourages participants to push beyond their comfort zones, embrace discipline, and discover what they’re capable of in a supportive environment. Many of the youth we serve have never had the opportunity to participate in organized athletic events. The Biathlons give them that chance — a place where they are seen, encouraged, and celebrated for their effort.
But it’s not just about endurance. It’s about building confidence, resilience, and connection. Youth train and compete alongside mentors and peers, developing teamwork and trust that extend far beyond the finish line. Each mile covered is a step away from negative influences and a step toward believing in their own potential. These events are a reflection of our mission: to meet young people where they are, lift them up, and show them that their futures are worth fighting for.

Our Impact
What Our Youth Get Out
Of Our Events
The Building Bridges Biathlons aren’t just athletic events — they’re catalysts for transformation. For many youth, this is the first time they’ve trained for something, been cheered on by a crowd, or crossed a finish line with someone waiting to congratulate them.
That moment of triumph becomes a turning point — one that builds confidence, fosters connection, and shifts how they see themselves and what they believe they can accomplish. The Biathlon creates more than just runners or bikers — it builds belief in brighter futures.
